I put the Apple Store gift card my sister got me to good use and got myself a 500 GB G-DRIVE. It got delivered on Friday so I’ve been using it all weekend to offload my huge collection of movies and tv shows. I had also ordered a new 2GB of RAM from crucial.com, but UPS dropped the ball on that delivery pretty badly, adding days to my wait.
Upon realizing that my roommate wouldn’t be home to sign for it, I called Friday morning before work (7:45 AM) and asked them (automated phone machine woman) to hold it for pick-up. Shortly thereafter, I got a call from a real-live human confirming it would be removed from the truck and held at the UPS center on Houston and Greenwich. That evening I went to the UPS building and gave the worker my name and address and driver’s license, only to find out that the package was “probably left on the truck.” The pick-up building isn’t open on weekends, either.
Anyway, In organizing my new hard drive and moving some stuff over from an old 200 GB drive that I plan on reformatting (after I repair one of the partitions that still has a bunch of movies — my fingers are crossed), I found some excellent old gems from high school. Namely this picture of me as a pimp for Halloween, taken on my shitty Quickcam Pro which was my only means of digital photography at the time (probably 2000 or 2001).
